Why it makes a good gift
Best for : An electric guitarist with an amp who wants to add reverb, or a player building up a pedal collection
Best occasion : Christmas or a birthday for a guitarist
Why it works : Reverb is the effect that gives a guitar its sense of space, and the RV-6 offers eight sound modes in one compact pedal, so the player gets a choice of sounds rather than a single fixed one. The 4.8 rating across more than 1,400 reviews is strong for gear at this price. At about $145 it is a real gift rather than a stocking filler, and it is a different effect from the distortion and overdrive pedals many players buy first.
Avoid if : The recipient does not play electric guitar, has no amp, or already owns a reverb pedal they like: effects are a matter of personal taste. The listing excerpt does not say how the pedal is powered, so check before wrapping.
