This Yookidoo bath set pairs a snail and a flower that attach to a tub or shower, plus a watering can. Pouring water into the flower opens its petals to reveal a bee and a rising worm, and filling the snail's shell makes its head peek out and the shell spin. The listing title is written for ages 1 to 3. Rated 4.7 across 383 reviews at about $39.
Why it makes a good gift
Best for : Parents of a toddler who likes water play, looking for a small bath-time present.
Best occasion : A toddler's birthday or a small Christmas gift.
Why it works : The surprise is triggered by the water itself (the flower opens, the snail's shell spins), so the toddler causes the effect and bath time becomes a game. Rated 4.7 across 383 reviews at about $39.
Avoid if : The child dislikes baths or already owns many bath toys. Bath time always needs an adult nearby, and it is worth checking that the attachment holds on your tub.
