Why it makes a good gift
Best for : A teen or adult who wants a fast outdoor RC car for a field or empty lot, not a living-room toy.
Best occasion : Christmas, a birthday.
Why it works : This is the kind of toy that gets taken outside on Christmas afternoon: a brushless 4x4 with all-terrain tires and two batteries, so it can run twice without waiting on a charger. The listing sells it to adults, which sets it apart from the cheaper kids' trucks. About $140, rated 4.6 across 1,309 reviews.
Avoid if : There is no open space to run it: the listing claims 50+ mph. Check the charging instructions for the 3S battery and the recommended age before giving it to a young teen.
