Uhale 10.1-inch WiFi Digital Picture Frame, 32GB
The Uhale digital picture frame has a 10.1-inch IPS touch screen at 1280 x 800 and 32GB of built-in storage. Once it is on the home WiFi, any number of relatives can send photos from the Uhale phone app (iOS and Android). It also plays video with sound, reads SD cards and USB drives, and rotates pictures to match how the frame is standing. A detachable stand and a screw let it sit on a shelf or hang on a wall. For a mom whose grandchildren live far away, it turns a shelf into a stream of new pictures she never has to ask for. Around $65.
Why it makes a good gift
Best for : A mom or grandmother who has more photos on relatives' phones than on her own walls
Best occasion : Christmas, Mother's Day or a birthday
Why it works : Most photo gifts show one picture and never change. This frame keeps filling up because the whole family sends pictures from their own phones, so the gift is still delivering after Christmas morning, and the recipient only has to look at it.
Avoid if : She already owns a digital frame or prefers printed albums; someone also has to connect it to WiFi once.
