Why it makes a good gift
Best for : A kid of 6 or older who likes vehicles that turn into robots, or a first figure for a new Transformers collection
Best occasion : A birthday, Christmas
Why it works : The yellow car is the whole point of Bumblebee, and this figure keeps it simple: robot and car, six steps between them. At 11 inches it feels like a main present, yet it costs about $28. Rated 4.6 across 7,336 reviews.
Avoid if : The child is under 6 (the listing says 6 and up), or already owns the Optimus Prime figure from the same series and would rather get a different kind of toy.
