The mooas Flip Desk Clock tells time with printed number cards that flip over as the minutes pass, like the split-flap boards of old stations. An AM/PM icon on the hour pad separates morning from afternoon. It measures about 8.3 by 3.9 by 6.3 inches and runs on a single D battery, sold separately, which the brand says lasts around five months. There is no screen and no glow, just a mechanical movement on a desk or shelf. It suits someone who likes vintage objects or wants an analog piece on a home office desk.

Why it works : The flipping cards turn checking the time into a small moment, and it looks like a design piece rather than a gadget.
