Why it makes a good gift
Best for : A car fan, teen or adult, who wants a licensed model that also drives.
Best occasion : Christmas, a birthday.
Why it works : It sits between a display model and a toy: the licensed body replicates Lamborghini's first hybrid roadster, and the car still drives, with lights and a remote that reaches 200 feet. At 1:12 scale it is large enough to be a shelf piece. Rated 4.6 across about 600 reviews, at about $70.
Avoid if : You want a fast RC car: the top speed is 12 km/h, about 7 mph, a pace closer to a scale model than to a racer.
