HABA Eat It Up Dragon Hand Puppet
✓ Product data checked October 23, 2026
This 15.75-inch dragon from HABA is a hand puppet with a twist: a built-in belly bag lets a child feed it small toys, letter cards or number tiles and watch them vanish. The adult works the mouth with thumb and middle fingers while index and pinkie roll the eyes independently, which gives the dragon real expressions. Parents and therapists use it to turn counting or first words into a feeding game. As a gift it invites an adult and a toddler to play together, and the puppet goes in the washing machine on a cold, delicate cycle.
Why it makes a good gift
Best for : A parent, grandparent or caregiver of a toddler who likes making up voices and games
Best occasion : A first or second birthday, or Christmas for a toddler
Why it works : The swallowing pouch turns tidy-up, counting and new words into a game, and the eyes that move on their own make the dragon feel alive. It is a toy that needs an adult hand inside, so it gives family time rather than solo play.
Avoid if : The child is too young to be trusted with the small objects fed to the dragon, or nobody at home enjoys acting out puppet voices.
