Why it makes a good gift
Best for : A child who likes soft toys and bedtime stories, or an adult who collects plush animals
Best occasion : A birthday, Christmas, or a small get-well gift
Why it works : The storybook turns a plush into something a child can act out: the fox comes with a finger puppet book, so there is a story to play with, not just a toy to hug. At about $17 and with a 4.8 rating over 75,000 reviews, it is an inexpensive gift that has been widely bought and well reviewed.
Avoid if : The child is under 3 or tends to chew toys: the listing mentions bean pellets inside and states no minimum age, so check the age grading on the product page.
