Why it makes a good gift
Best for : A homeowner or DIYer who still measures rooms and furniture with a tape.
Best occasion : Christmas or Father's Day, as a mid-priced tool gift.
Why it works : A laser measure is the kind of tool people use for years once they own one but seldom buy first. This Bosch model is simple enough to hand over without a manual: two buttons, a backlit display and a rounding button down to 1/32 inch. Rated 4.6 across 2,724 reviews at about $63, it is a branded tool gift with a solid track record, priced between a stocking filler and a big present.
Avoid if : The recipient already owns a laser measure, or only needs short distances: a tape measure does the job. Never aim the Class II laser at eyes.
